Chasing the Muse

Updated: Sep 25, 2020

"Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decides if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art." - Andy Warhol

These are words I live by. For me the juice isn’t in whether anyone approves of my artwork. I get my fix from the process of making something, from following the creative muse where it leads. And when I’m really on a roll, I get my juice from pushing the boundaries and seeing how far I can go.

My current aspiration is to achieve more looseness in my work. I've long felt like the art I make is too tight, too precise. I want to capture the beauty of the subject, but at in a way that is not too fussy or overworked. And some of this will come as my skill level improves - my brush strokes will get more precise, requiring less re-work and enabling a loose, free quality.

What a joy it is to have the privilege of chasing this dream. Thank you for joining me on this journey and experiencing the wonder of the creative process.
